Bridgton Academy baseball team traveled
to Lynne, Massachusetts to play Merrimack College in a doubleheader this past
weekend. The first game was a hard-fought battle that had six scoreless innings
for both teams, and a total of only six hits. In a 0-0 game in the top of the
seventh John Williams (Mashpee, MA) broke the seal, driving in Drew Proctor
(Falmouth, ME) for the game’s first run. Two batters later Robbie Harris
(Flushing, MI) and Williams capitalized and scored on a Merrimack error on a
hit by Aaron Drummy (Norwood, MA) that stretched the Wolverines lead to 3-0 and
would solidify the win.
In the
second game, Brandon Glover (Croton-on-Hudson, NY) got the start and was
relieved by Gehrig Schilling (Medfield, MA) and Jake Smith (East Longmeadow, MA).
Despite four runs on nine hits the Wolverines struggled with runners in scoring
position. The Wolverines fell short in the game, losing 7-4.
